30 hours - on PAYE salary
An experienced, reliable and proactive Housekeeper to help with the day-to-day running of a busy family home. This is a varied role combining housekeeping, household organisation, errands, pet care and general household support.
Someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and, importantly, uses their own initiative to identify what needs doing and gets on with it without needing constant direction.
The right person will be organised, practical, trustworthy and adaptable, with a positive, can-do attitude. We hope to build a long-term working relationship with someone who will become a trusted and valued part of the household.
The role is based on five days per week, Monday to Friday, working approximately 30 hours. Normal working hours would be either 8am–2pm or 9am–3pm, depending on the needs of the household and the successful candidate.
Some flexibility around these hours would be appreciated, with any changes discussed and agreed in advance. We are looking for someone interested in a long-term position who will take genuine ownership of their responsibilities and contribute positively to the smooth running of the home.
- Housekeeping and Cleaning.
- General cleaning and maintaining high standards throughout the home.
- Daily cleaning and tidying of the kitchen, including loading and emptying the dishwasher.
- Emptying household bins and managing household waste.
- Cleaning internal windows, mirrors and glass surfaces.
- Changing beds and laundering bed linen and towels.
- Cleaning and maintaining household appliances.
- Occasional cleaning and preparation of the annex.
- Keeping patio furniture and outdoor living areas clean and presentable.
- Managing all household laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing where required and putting away.
- Taking items to and collecting from the dry cleaners.
- Keeping cupboards, storage areas and household essentials organised.
- Monitoring and replenishing cleaning products, toiletries and other household supplies.
- Unpacking and putting away grocery and household shopping.
Pet Care
- Walking and feeding the family dog a gorgeous Golden Retriever.
- Providing general day-to-day care and attention.
- Taking the dog to veterinary appointments when required.
- Receiving and dealing with deliveries and parcels.
- Managing returns and taking parcels to the Post Office or other drop-off locations.
- Liaising with tradespeople and contractors, arranging access and overseeing work where appropriate.
- Identifying household repairs or maintenance issues and proactively helping to resolve them.
- Running general household errands as required.
- Helping ensure the home remains organised, well maintained and running smoothly.
There may occasionally be opportunities for additional paid hours, including house sitting, looking after the property and caring for the family dog when the family are away.These arrangements would be discussed and agreed separately, including any additional remuneration, once a relationship of mutual trust has been established.

- Previous experience in a private household or similar role would be preferred, together with excellent references.
- A full driving licence is essential.
