A new Job role for an experienced housekeeper working to high standards.
My clients are a couple with 2 young children in a superb house on an estate in Essex who seek a professional, experienced Housekeeper with knowledge of running large residences and quality laundry care.
The employers are a down to earth couple who were raised locally themselves and now have 2 children - this post is to take full responsibility for the smooth running of the country house. The role is full time Mon - Fri, 8 to 4.30pm
A stunning rural location close to villages towns shops cafes - they have 2 dogs. They need a driver with their own car for errands and shopping.
Accommodation is a fully furnished 2 bedroom cottage all found.
Salary: £40k
Holiday: 28 days (incl. bank holidays)
Accommodation not ideally suited to dependants or pets but may consider a small well behaved dog.
The couple go away most school holidays so house nad dog sitting and being happy to take charge in their absense is essential.
The role will include housekeeping duties such as daily cleaning and tidying, deep cleaning, and keeping on top of all laundry including hand wash of finer fabrics.
A keen able home cook - - simple family style - Jamie Oliver , Ottelengi styles Omelettes, chicken and salad, low carb , soups, fish and veggies..
Housekeeping
- General household cleaning and tidying (keeping the home well-kept, neat, and organised)
- Daily cleaning of the kitchen and bathrooms and maintaining living spaces
- Deep cleaning (incl. frequent cleaning of the ovens etc.)
- Making and changing all beds within the home
- All hoovering, dusting and polishing furniture and décor care of antiques
- Cleaning the inside of windows
Laundry
- Assuming full charge of household laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
- Having knowledge of a wide range of textiles and their specific care instructions
- Mending clothing (tears, buttons, hems) and sewing children’s name tapes
- Hand washing =care of cashmere handling stain removal
- Familiarity with eco-friendly, non-toxic cleansers and detergents
- Purchasing and re-ordering housekeeping and laundry supplies
Liaising regarding property maintenance or repairs
- Running errands (post office, dry cleaning,)
- Organising cupboard and storage
- Answering the door and receiving deliveries
- Watering household plants and flower arranging
- Infrequently accompanying the family on holidays (always agreed in advance)
The family are looking for a friendly professional, discreet, energetic, and proactive housekeeper, with experience with a can-do attitude and initiative.
